Aim:
Part 1) Basics of Stata
Date: 2-4 October 2006

The aim is to provide the fundamental insights and basic skills in Stata programming language. This part of the course is recommended before taking the biostatistics courses.
Part 2) Epidemiology with Stata
Date: 27 Nov 2006- 28 Nov 2006
The aim is to provide the fundamental insights and basic skills to apply basic epidemiology methods in Stata. The course is an elective course in the PhD program in epidemiology

Contents:
Part 1)
The course is designed to gently introduce students to the basics in Stata. It will focus on the minimum number of commands that users should know in order to organize properly their own work. Specific topics include data-reporting, data-management, formatting and graphics. By the end of this three-day course, the student will be familiar with Stata®.

Part 2)
This course is designed to introduce students to basic commands useful in epidemiology. Specific topics include tables for epidemiologist (cohort and case-control studies), modeling dose-response relationship, assessment of confounding and interaction, diagnostic tests, and common graphical representations. By the end of this two-day course, the student will be more familiar with epidemiologic methods using Stata®.
