Concepts in Biotechnology - From Science to Business

Aim:
The aim of this course is to provide future entrepreneurs with knowledge about the opportunities to create a business from an idea within the area of biotechnology, and some practical understanding of how to go about doing so.

The course deals with development and management of biotechnology businesses with a focus on commercialising innovations.

Learning outcomes:

Contents:Presentations by researchers on financing, strategy, intellectual property, human resources and innovations, will provide students with a conceptual framework of the area. Through presentations by entrepreneurs and business leaders, who bring science to business, practical issues are discussed. Students will also work on a group-project, which gives them the opportunity to dig deeper into a topic of their choice and present it through a thesis and oral presentation at the end of the course.

Compulsory moments:
Classes are held at evenings, Mondays and Wednesdays, for 9 weeks.
