Garrison-Morton - Norman, Jeremy Morton's Medical Bibliography. An Annotated Check-list of texts Illustrating the History of Medicine (Garrison and Morton). Edited by Jeremy M. Norman. Fifth Edition
Aldershot, Scolar Press, 1983 (reprinted 1993)
Pp xxiv, 1243.
Publisher's cloth, dust jacket.
Originally published in 1943 by Leslie T. Morton based on an outline of sources for the history of medicine published in 1933 by Fielding H. Garrison. Garrison died in 1935 so the two never met. The Garrison-Morton has since went through five editions, the last one extensively revised, expanded and updated by Jeremy Norman. The book provides a chronological bibliography of the most important contributions to the world literature on medicine and related sciences. Annotations are
added to explain the significance of individual contributions to the history and development of the medical sciences. The fifth edition contains 8927 entries, even if the final entry is numbered 6810 as new entries were added by the use of decimals.
